MD's Update - March 2024

Dear Valued Customers and Somfy Friends,

Welcome to the first issue of Motoreyes for 2024. What a busy start to the year it has been!

I am penning this letter having just returned from R+T Stuttgart 2024. It was fabulous to come together with our customers from Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific Islands after a six year show hiatus. The SOMFY Group did themselves very proud with an impressive presence across multiple brands including BFT, SIMU and Teleco.

The Somfy brand had an amazing stand, successfully launching Zigbee, to a big presence of Somfy U.S. and Somfy Oceania customers.

While there was an overall smaller travelling contingent, the number of companies attending the show was largely the same. Many of these travelling customers joined us for additional Somfy Oceania activities including a sightseeing day around Stuttgart, and a weekend tour to France to visit Somfy HQ. The highlight of the week was our Somfy dinner on the Wednesday night, where we hosted over 100 customers.

Back in Rydalmere, we have gone live with third-party logistics (3PL) as of 11^th of March. During the first 2-3 days, we experienced some IT teething issues, but we are looking forward to getting our customer service rate back into the 90s very soon, including webstore data stock reliability. In terms of trading, January was expectedly soft, but we bounced back across the board in February and have so far had strong orders coming through in March.

We are also proud to be off and running on another major commercial project – Pitt Street Metro, Sydney. We will be motorising 4,300 blinds with close to 3,000 Sonesse 40 WT motors. The blinds will be controlled by 730 4AC KNX Motor Controllers across 30 floors. Stay tuned for more details on this exciting project.

Later this month, we are kicking off our Zigbee and TaHoma suite launch activities with a Product Roadshow across the east coast of Australia. We are looking forward to presenting you with our new smart shading solutions and demonstrating how Somfy’s Zigbee ecosystem benefits you and your customers.
